Glow's wellness guides.
Wellness rankings are in editorial review across all four cities, launching late 2026. The category attracts a lot of marketing — Glow's lens is on equipment quality and protocol rigour, not branding.
How to choose a wellness studio.
Infrared sauna — what to look for?
Full-spectrum panels (near, mid and far IR), low-EMF certification, and rooms that hit 60°C+ within ten minutes. Studios that can't tell you the panel brand are usually running cheap. Reasonable price: $40-80 per 45-minute session.
Cold plunge — is the temperature shown?
It should be. Honest studios show the live temperature on a screen — 5-10°C is the therapeutic range. Anything above 12°C isn't doing the cold-shock proteins thing the marketing claims. Walk out if the studio won't show the temp.
Contrast therapy — how long?
Three rounds of 3-4 minutes hot, 1-2 minutes cold. Most studios don't enforce the timing — bring a watch and run it yourself. The protocol is what matters; the studio is just the hardware.
IV drips — what's actually defensible?
Glutathione for skin, vitamin C for immunity, hydration for hangovers — all backed by some evidence. NAD+ is more contested, expensive, and the dose claims vary widely. Always ask for the bag, the dose, and who's administering. Refuse anything administered by a non-clinical staff member.
