About Glow · Editorial
Editorial Standards.
What we publish, how we test, how we disclose, and how we correct. The standards summarised here are codified in full at The Glow Standard, v4.2.
Our principles, in short.
The Glow operates as an independent beauty review publication. The single principle underneath every decision we make is this: a review is worth nothing unless the reader can act on it. Three working commitments follow from that.
- No paid placement, ever. Glow does not accept payment for editorial placement, score, or featuring under any product or clinic name. Affiliate revenue, where present, is capped per retailer and is never tied to score or rank.
- Named, credentialled editors. Every review is published with the named editor on the byline. Editor credentials and disclosable interests are public at the editorial masthead and on each author profile.
- Public methodology. The five-axis product rubric and the nine-point clinic framework are published, versioned and dated. Readers can audit the basis of any score or featuring decision.
What we publish — and what we don't.
We publish: product reviews tested over a six-week minimum window (twelve weeks for anti-ageing claims); ranked category guides; brand reviews with full INCI verification; clinic features selected against a nine-point framework; essays, columns and editorial criticism under named editor bylines.
We do not publish: sponsored articles disguised as editorial; product placements presented as recommendations; reviews based on PR samples without retail verification; claims we cannot source; star ratings or review counts we have not generated.
How we test products.
Every graded product moves through nine documented steps under The Glow Standard: retail acquisition, batch verification, four-tester panel recruitment, day-zero photographic baseline, the six-to-twelve week use phase, photographic re-test, editor scoring with written justification per axis, a second-editor review, and publication with editor name and panel skew on file.
How we select clinics.
Cosmetic-medicine clinic features are selected against a nine-point editorial framework covering founder credentials, clinical oversight, treatment breadth, consultation model, public reputation, transparency, patient suitability, pricing clarity, and editorial independence. The full framework is at Review Methodology.
How we disclose relationships.
Where Glow has any commercial relationship with a brand, retailer or clinic under review, it is disclosed on the page in plain English. The conflict register is updated quarterly. For full disclosure principles see Disclosures.
How we correct errors.
Glow welcomes correction requests. Address them to [email protected]. Material corrections are logged on the page with a dated correction notice; the underlying claim is amended only after independent re-verification. Glow does not delete published claims; we correct them.
