How to choose a laser clinic.
What machine should I look for?
Candela GentleMax Pro is the medical-grade benchmark for laser hair removal — it handles every Fitzpatrick skin type safely. Anything described as 'IPL only' is mid-tier; clinics running older diodes can be unsafe on darker skin. Ask the clinic to name the machine before you book.
Pay-as-you-go or package?
Pay-as-you-go almost always wins. Packages lock you to one clinic, and the discount rarely covers the risk that the clinic underperforms or you move suburb. Book single sessions until you've had three good ones at the same clinic.
How many sessions until permanent reduction?
Six to ten sessions for most areas, four to six weeks apart. If a clinic promises 'three sessions and done', they are either lying or undertreating. Honest clinics quote ten and you finish in six.
Is laser safe on darker skin?
