The Method, in five axes

How it scored in testing.

The Glow Standard rubric — independence, formulation, performance, value, repurchase — applied across a six-week test window with named editor sign-off. Three Warriors enters as the natural-style benchmark.

T
Natural Self Tanning Mousse

The first bottle

Start with the Mousse.

Sugar-cane DHA on an organic, Tasmanian-leaning base. Apply with the Eco-Friendly Tanning Mitt; rinse the guide colour off the next morning. Five to seven days of golden tone if you exfoliate first with the Sand Scrub. It is the bottle Corbin Halliday set out to build in 2014 — clean enough to use on the body he was trying to detoxify.

The Range, axis by axis

Five SKUs worth knowing.

A short, deliberate range. No reformulations every season; no maximalist face-tan SKU stack. The five products below are the ones that earn the shelf space.

01

Natural Self Tanning Mousse

The hero. Sugar-cane DHA, organic base, golden tone. Five to seven days on prepped skin. The benchmark for natural-style mousse in Australia.

AU$34.95
02

Natural Gradual Tan

Daily moisturiser with build-up colour. The pick for editors who do not want to commit to a full self-tan night. Coconut and jojoba in the carrier; pleasant scent.

AU$34.95
03

Exfoliating Tasmanian Sand Scrub

The signature prep step. Tasmanian sand instead of plastic micro-beads or coffee grind. Use it 24 hours before any tan. The product that most defines the brand's ingredient story.

AU$29.95
04

Hydrabronze Face Tan Drops

Two to three drops into a nighttime moisturiser. Buildable, hyaluronic-acid carrier, the face product Pati Dubroff (Margot Robbie's MUA) has used on red-carpet skin.

AU$42.95
05

Eco-Friendly Tanning Mitt

The application tool. Velvet face, non-shedding, the difference between streaks and finish on the Mousse. Buy it in the kit if you are starting cold.

The Field Note

A clean tan, written from Tasmania.

Three Warriors did not start in a beauty incubator. It started in 2014, in an apartment with black mould, in the body of a founder who could not work out why his blood pressure was up, his memory was going and his nervous system was failing. The diagnosis was Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome. The first thing Corbin Halliday did, once he understood what was happening, was read the labels on everything he was putting on his skin. The fake tan was the first thing he replaced.

The brand name belongs to him and his two siblings — what their mother called them after their father died young. The Tasmanian connection is not aesthetic. The sand in the scrub is Tasmanian. The olive oil is hand-picked from Flinders Island. The marine collagen and the spring water are sourced on-island. The brand reads more like a regional Australian producer than a tan house, and that is the point.

What sits behind the labels is a short, deliberate range — five products that matter, a couple of bundles, a tanning mitt. No constant relaunches; no face-tan SKU sprawl. The hero remains the Natural Self Tanning Mousse, the one Halliday built first. The Sand Scrub is the prep step that makes everything else work. The Gradual Tan is the SKU we go through fastest in editorial — moisturiser as honest tan.

It is not the brand we would pick for a tan that needs to read in flash photography or last seven full days through gym sessions. Australian Glow wins on speed and price-per-finish. Bondi Sands wins on supermarket shelf. Eco Tan wins on dermatologist endorsement. Three Warriors wins on the question, "What is actually in this?" — and that is now the question more readers are asking us first.

The verdict.

Three Warriors is the certified-organic Australian self-tan founded by Corbin Halliday in 2014 after a CIRS diagnosis put the toxin load on his skin under the microscope. Tasmanian-sourced ingredients, vegan, pregnancy safe. Glow Score 8.7/10 — best natural-style option in the 2026 Self-Tan Index. Best first product: Natural Self Tanning Mousse at AU$34.95 from threewarriors.com.au or Adore Beauty.

The Questions, asked most

Eight questions, briefly answered.

Is Three Warriors Australian?
Yes. Founded in 2014 by Corbin Halliday and made in Australia. The brand draws its signature ingredients from Tasmania — Tasmanian sand, olive oil from Flinders Island, marine collagen and spring water.
What is Three Warriors best known for?
Certified-organic, vegan, cruelty-free self-tan with a Tasmanian ingredient story. The Natural Self Tanning Mousse (AU$34.95) and Natural Gradual Tan are the hero SKUs. The Exfoliating Tasmanian Sand Scrub is the signature prep step.
Where can I buy Three Warriors?
Direct at threewarriors.com.au and at Adore Beauty in Australia. Selected independent pharmacies and boutique skincare retailers carry the range; the brand maintains a stockist locator on its site.
Is Three Warriors self-tan natural?
Yes. Certified organic, certified toxic-free, no parabens, no synthetic fragrance. The DHA is plant-derived from sustainable sugar cane. The carrier base leans on Tasmanian olive oil, aloe vera, vitamin E and rose oil.
Is Three Warriors vegan?
The self-tan range is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. The broader body-care range is also vegan-formulated. Pregnancy-safe across the line.
How does Three Warriors compare to Eco Tan?
Both are certified-organic Australian self-tans. Eco Tan owns the medical-grade and dermatologist-endorsed positioning; Three Warriors leans further into Tasmanian provenance and scent. See our full side-by-side at Eco Tan vs Three Warriors.
How long does Three Warriors tan last?
Five to seven days on prepped skin for the Natural Self Tanning Mousse; four to six days for the Natural Gradual Tan with daily reapplication. Longevity is moderate — the trade-off for the cleaner ingredient deck.
Is Three Warriors good for sensitive skin?
Yes. The certified-organic base, plant-derived DHA, pregnancy-safe formulation and absence of synthetic fragrance make it a regular pick on our sensitive-skin shortlist.

The Field Note, closing

Where it sits in the index.

In the 2026 Self-Tan Index, Three Warriors is the natural-style winner — the brand the panel reaches for when the brief is "clean ingredient deck, Australian story, no synthetic fragrance." It is not the top of the ranking; Australian Glow takes that. It is not the dermatologist pick; Eco Tan holds that. It is the one we keep recommending to readers who write in asking what is actually in the bottle.

The Sand Scrub is what we would buy first if we already owned a tan we liked. The Mousse is what we would buy first if we were starting from scratch. The Gradual Tan is what we would put on weekly through winter. The Drops are for the editor's face — small bottle, long mileage.
