Why does self-tan turn fair skin orange?
Most budget formulas use cheap DHA that oxidises warm. On fair skin with cool undertones, that warmth reads as orange. Premium drops and mousses use higher-grade DHA and tone-correctors to avoid this.
What shade should fair skin start with?
Always Light or Medium. Never Dark or Ultra Dark on the first use. Drops are safest — you control the depth by the number added.
Is self-tan visible on pale skin straight away?
No — allow 4-8 hours for colour to develop. Most formulas include a cosmetic guide-colour that washes off; the actual tan continues developing under your skin surface.
