The verdict.
Two Dudes is the best-branded mediocre skincare in Australian men's grooming. GLOW Score 5.5/10 after six weeks: nothing irritated us, and nothing impressed us either. The Daily Face Wash (6.5/10) is the one bottle we'd buy again. The Night Cream is the Day Cream in a different tube. At the same $16–22, stronger formulas sit on the same shelf.

Two Dudes review: the brand outruns the bottle.
Two Dudes is the New Zealand men's grooming brand sold across Australia through organic and natural-focused retailers, Nourished Life, Wholesome Home, Bio Living, Australian Organic Products. We bought the Day Cream, Night Cream, and Daily Face Wash at retail price and wore them for six weeks, waiting for any of the three to earn the packaging. GLOW score is 5.5 out of 10, nothing here is bad, and that's the problem: at $16–22 a tube, "nothing bad" is the floor, not the pitch. One product in the range deserves a rebuy. The other two are branding with a texture.

GLOW read.
Two Dudes is a New Zealand men's grooming brand built on a natural-ingredient platform, native NZ botanicals, simple formulations, gentle preservation. In Australia it's sold through the organic and natural retail channel rather than the mass-market or premium-prestige channels: Nourished Life, Wholesome Home, Bio Living, Australian Organic Products, Paddington Store. The branding voice is irreverent ("Two Dudes," informal copy, lifestyle photography), but the formulations themselves are restrained and cleanly built.
We bought the Day Cream, Night Cream, and Daily Face Wash at retail price through Australian retailers and tested each across six weeks. None of the products caused tolerance issues for either tester. None of them were transformative either. The Day Cream, the brand's hero product, moisturises competently and finishes matte; it does not deliver more than its modest active load suggests it should. The Night Cream is harder to distinguish from the Day Cream than it should be. The Daily Face Wash is the strongest of the three, a fair gel-cream cleanser at a fair price.
Across the five-pillar rubric, formulation, application, value, brand-credibility-against-pricing, editorial usefulness, Two Dudes scored a 5.5. Mid-tier. Capable. Not an editor's pick.
Our editorial position: the visual identity is the best thing the brand makes. If you're standing in an organic retailer and need a face wash, Two Dudes won't let you down. If you're choosing the category from scratch, don't start here, the same $20 buys formulas that actually move the needle, and the shopping decision deserves that comparison. One of our testers bought it three times before admitting it wasn't doing anything. That's the brand working. That's not the skincare working.
What works
- Genuinely natural-ingredient platform, the positioning and the formulations align
- Well-tolerated across six weeks of testing, no irritation, no over-formulation
- Daily Face Wash is the strongest product in the range and a fair buy at its price tier
- Brand voice is consistent and on-brief for the natural-grooming category
- Available across multiple Australian organic and natural retailers, easy to find for the target shopper
What doesn't
- Active concentrations are conservative, the products are gentle, but they don't deliver visible change beyond basic hydration
- Day Cream and Night Cream are too similar, the differentiation between the two SKUs is harder to feel than to read on the marketing copy
- No editorial standout product, the range is "competent across the board" rather than "must-buy on any single SKU"
- Other brands in the same affordable-natural tier offer comparable performance, sometimes with cleaner formulation language
- The brand-voice irreverence may not appeal to readers who want a quieter editorial register from their grooming products
What we tested, and what we found.
Two Dudes provided no samples to GLOW. Every product reviewed here was bought at retail price through Australian retailers (Nourished Life and Wholesome Home) during the six-week testing window. Two testers used each product daily; results below are aggregated across both testers.

Day Cream, 6/10 Fine
The brand's most-purchased SKU and the product most readers ask about. A lightweight daily moisturiser with a matte finish, sinks in quickly, doesn't sit on the skin, plays well under sunscreen. The active load is modest: hydration and barrier-supporting ingredients rather than anything intended to drive visible change. After six weeks of daily use, neither tester observed transformative effects. As a daily moisturiser for men with normal-to-oily skin who want a simple, gentle product without fragrance overload, it does the job. As a "hero" product expected to outperform, it doesn't deliver more than the formulation suggests it should.
Night Cream, 5/10 Skip
The product where we expected the biggest perceived gap from the Day Cream, and didn't find one. The Night Cream is a slightly richer version of the Day Cream rather than a meaningfully different product. There's no sleep-active complex, no high-active treatment claim, no obvious reason a buyer needs both SKUs in the same routine rather than just the Day Cream applied morning and night. If you only buy one, buy the Day Cream.
Daily Face Wash, 6.5/10 The one to buy
The strongest product in the range we tested. The formulation is built around activated charcoal and aloe vera in a gentle gel base, a familiar pairing in the affordable-natural cleanser category, executed competently here. It doesn't strip, rinses cleanly, doesn't leave residue. The charcoal does the visible work the marketing promises (a satisfying matte feeling on the skin straight after rinsing); the aloe does the tolerance work in the background. At its price tier this is a defensible standalone buy and the easiest Two Dudes product to recommend. If you're trying the brand for the first time, start here.

Which Two Dudes product is the best?
The Daily Face Wash, in our testing. It's a fair gel-cream cleanser at a fair price and the easiest product in the range to recommend as a standalone buy. The Day Cream is the brand's most-purchased product and is also competent.
Why did GLOW give Two Dudes 5.5 out of 10?
5.5 reflects mid-tier performance in our five-pillar rubric, formulations are competent, well-tolerated, and on-brief for the natural-ingredient platform, but no individual product earned a top-tier score. Read the full methodology.
Is Two Dudes worth it?
For most men, no. GLOW scored Two Dudes 5.5/10 after six weeks of testing: nothing irritated, nothing impressed. The Daily Face Wash (6.5/10) is the only product we would repurchase. At the same $16–22 price tier, Bulldog (8.3/10) and Frasé Skin (9.4/10) deliver visibly more.
Two Dudes vs Frasé Skin, which is better?
Frasé Skin, and it is not close on GLOW's bench: Frasé scores 9.4/10 as a brand with its Daily Moisturiser at 9.2/10 ($34.99); Two Dudes scores 5.5/10 with only its Face Wash (6.5/10) earning a rebuy. See the full men's skincare ranking for the shelf head-to-head.
The buy.
If you want to try the brand, the Daily Face Wash is the strongest product in the range and the easiest standalone buy at its price tier. The Day Cream is the most-purchased SKU and a competent daily moisturiser. The Night Cream is hard to differentiate from the Day Cream, skip it unless you want both formats. Two Dudes is widely stocked across Australian organic retailers; check Nourished Life or Wholesome Home for current pricing.
What's actually in it.
- Platform
- Natural-ingredient men's grooming using native New Zealand botanicals. Restrained active load, gentle formulation philosophy.
- Tolerance
- Well-tolerated across our six-week testing window. No irritation events on either tester.
- Editorial position
- Genuinely natural, the positioning and the formulations align. The trade-off is conservative active concentrations: gentle on skin, modest in visible effect.
Index grade is editorial, not paid. The grade reflects what's in the product against GLOW's v1.0 watch list, it sits beside GLOW score, not instead of it. Two Dudes earns a Grade B for a clean natural-ingredient platform with no obvious safety flags, balanced against modest active performance.
