About

About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Agresta started Australian Glow in 2013 from a Hampton kitchen with three bottles, a mailing list of friends, and a bias against the orange-toned formulas dominating Australian shelves. The brand now ships to thirteen countries and is stocked across Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Mecca and major beauty retailers in the US, UK and EU.

She writes for Glow about self-tan, body care, and the operator's view of the beauty industry — what brands get right, where they cut corners, and what the inside of a manufacturing facility actually looks like. Her perspective is shaped by a decade of pH testing, lab visits, and reformulating products three times a year.

She also has strong opinions about the industry's marketing playbook and isn't afraid to share them — especially when it comes to 'natural' claims, fragrance load, and the gap between brand storytelling and what's actually in the bottle.

Voice & tone

How Elizabeth writes.

Direct, founder-confident, technically literate. Will use words like 'DHA concentration' without apology, but also writes about the consumer experience with warmth.

Hot takes

Three things Elizabeth actually believes.

  • Most 'natural' tans are marketing — DHA is DHA, regardless of which fruit was photographed alongside it.
  • The shelf-life of an opened tan formula is six months, not the eighteen the bottle suggests.
  • If you're spending $80+ on a self-tan and it isn't pH-balanced for Australian water, you're paying for the box.
Content angles

What Elizabeth writes about.

  • What's actually in your self-tan: a founder's read of the back of the bottle
  • The wedding-week tan protocol — what salons get right and where home formulas win
  • How to spot a good self-tan in 30 seconds at the chemist
  • Annual State of Australian Beauty essay
  • Reviews of every major Australian self-tan brand, including her own competitors
